Pastoral Care
If your child is going to be absent from school because of sickness that morning, please ring the school office before 9.00am. If your child is going to be late, please let the office know and also inform us if your child needs a school lunch ordering.
If your child complains of feeling unwell or is taken ill during the school day we do not have the facilities to offer sickness care. Therefore, parents will be asked to collect their child from school and will be contacted in the order in which they appear on the Emergency Contact Numbers.
We appreciate that sometimes circumstances occur when someone else needs to collect your child from school. Please contact the office as soon as possible if there is a change.

Commitment to Remote Learning
At Cowick CE Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that all children have access to quality education, even when they are unable to attend school. In such circumstances, students will be provided with a range of online resources to support their learning.
Children will have access to their portfolios on Class Dojo, which allows for the sharing of work and feedback. Additionally, they can engage with educational platforms such as TT Rockstars and Sumdog, which enhance their learning in mathematics and literacy. For some students, access to NESSY may be provided based on individual needs.
We recognise the importance of additional resources; therefore, children may be signposted to Oak Academy, BBC Bitesize, and other suitable websites to further support their learning journey.
As a general rule, we do not set work for children who are absent due to illness, prioritising their recovery. For those without access to digital learning, we can arrange for the borrowing of devices or the creation of learning packs.
We ensure that online safety protocols are strictly adhered to, and lessons may be delivered via Microsoft Teams to facilitate remote learning.
